Invited to Easter

In the words of Lumiere the candlestick, “Be our guest!” (Sorry, with young kids
Disney movies are still big)

Sunday, March 31st is the Super Bowl Sunday, the World Series Final, or Stanley
Cup Final for the church. Itʼs Easter Sunday the biggest, baddest Sunday in the church
year.

Easter changed everything. It has been said that if Jesus Christ died, but never
rose - the Christian movement would have never gained traction. If Jesus would have
stayed dead so would his influence and teaching. But the Christian church took off - not
because of profound teachings but because of an event - the resurrection.

And itʼs understandable. Imagine a friend who not only predicted when he would
die, but also told you he would come back to life. And then he did it. Would you follow
that person? Would you want them to be on your team? Yeah, me too. If someone
came back to life after predicting it I side with them.

And the resurrection was recorded by eyewitnesses Matthew, Mark, Luke and
John, and their accounts were collected in what we know as the Bible. Or consider
Jesusʼ brother James. While they lived in the house growing up together, James never
believed Jesus was the Messiah. (Which makes sense - what would your brother/
sibling have to do to convince you he was the Savior?) But after Jesus rose from the
dead - he believed.

So we invite you to consider what is the centerpiece of the faith. Jesus who rose
from the dead and conquered death for all people.

We promise that as our guest you will be treated kindly. We will give you food,
and warmly greet you. We wonʼt ask you to dress up, or give money, or sing. Because
our church doesnʼt want something from you, but wants something for you. Something
we think is helpful.

Come also to see the renovations going on at Amazing Love. Weʼve moved into
a new building by the Frankfort Library. We are just finishing phase 1 of some
renovations working with the Aspen Group in Frankfort. We hope you can join us for a
fantastic Easter. The service is at 9:30AM. So please, “Be our guest!”
